Did you know?
Money raised by the PTO was used to
build the KES playground (1996).
During the past 15 years, the KES PTO
has continued to enhance the KES outdoor campus through the use of its
available funds or in working with the KLSD to have improvements made. For example, in August 2010, a second section
of the Legacy Walkway was installed and we anticipate adding more during the
2011-2012 school year. In addition, the PTO worked with the KLSD administration
to have a new asphalt kickball court laid in August 2010 and a new KES entrance
sign installed in Spring 2011.
The PTO through its fabulous committees
and chairpersons has added a beautiful butterfly garden, which continues to
grow and flourish year after year.
During the 2011-2012 school year, the PTO hopes to replace the worn rubber mats on the
playground to enhance safety, add features for children who cannot participate
in an active recess, replenish the indoor recess bins and plant various trees
and shrubs on the campus.
